Bruno Lima grew up in the city of Recife, Brazil, and pursued his career at the University of California Davis, where he earned a B.S. in Clinical Nutrition. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Bruno started exploring the research of autoimmune conditions, particularly Ankylosing Spondylitis. His research is focused on nutritional interventions on immune cells and how it affects their production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, assessing their cellular metabolism and glycolytic activity.
Bruno feels that his discoveries will help to improve translational research for autoimmune conditions. Research has become his passion, and his time is completely dedicated to advancing the agenda of a medical nutritional therapy for autoimmune patients.
